So It has been a while..... The wife and I went out for dinner last night in Kirkland. We thought about it and ended up going to Trellis, I have to tell you when a Chef takes as much care and strives for only the best you can really tell in his cooking. The Chef here has a 10 acre farm and grows all of his own produce he cares for these dishes the moment they have sprouted from the ground and you can taste it in every bite! We started with a Dog Point Sauv Blanc and appetizers of shrimp with a pesto sauce and mussels. Both were exceptionally good, very complex flavors but very easy on the palate and the tartness of the Sauv Blanc cut through and left everything clean. The wife had the salmon special and I had the hanging tenderloin. I do not know about the salmon I was not able to even get a bite. The tenderloin was served over roasted carrots and parsnips with a nice rich peppercorn sauce. The loin was cooked to perfection, and you could tell it was rested before it was sliced open (both signs of perfection in the kitchen). It was great accompanying a Hoegarden Brew. All this was wrapped up by a pear sorbet with a molasses cookie (my favorite cookie). Overall a great dinner, great wine, great company and great weather all served up by excellent service!
